Your information.
What we collect, why, and how we look after it.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Wilderness of Business, the business of Katie Birkett, The Business Survivalist. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Wilderness of Business.
We are responsible for the personal information you give us. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email [email protected].
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need. Depending on how you use the site, that can include:
- Your contact details: your name, email address and, if you give it, your business name.
- What you tell us in forms: for example your stage of business, the challenge you'd like help with at the CEO Clinic, the programme you'd like to join, or a note to Katie.
- Your Backpack Check results: your stage, your emptiest compartment and your scores.
- Booking and payment details: what you've bought or booked. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Emails and messages you send us.
- Basic technical information, such as your browser type and the pages you visit. See our Cookies Policy for more.
3. How we use it and why
We use your information to:
- Send you what you asked for: CEO Clinic details and recordings, waitlist news, or your Backpack Check results. We do this because you asked us to.
- Deliver programmes, events and products you've bought or booked. We need to do this to keep our side of the agreement with you.
- Send you emails about our programmes, events and ideas, where you've ticked the box to agree. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- Run and improve our website and services. This is in our legitimate interests, and we keep it proportionate.
- Keep the records the law requires, such as payment and tax records.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We only share it with the services we use to run the business, who handle it on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- GoHighLevel (LeadConnector): our website, forms, contacts and email system.
- Stripe: to take payments.
- Zoom: to run online sessions such as the CEO Clinic.
- Google Fonts: to show the fonts on our website.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
5. Information stored outside the UK
Some of the services we use are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, they protect your information with legally recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or approved contract clauses.
6. Recordings of online sessions
Online sessions such as the CEO Clinic are recorded, and the recording is shared with people who signed up. If you join, your name, voice, video and anything you type in the chat may appear in the recording. You can keep your camera off and change your display name if you prefer.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it. Email list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Records of purchases are kept for six years, as required for tax purposes.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Children
Our website and services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
